Hello to all .... we're doing really well considering all that has happened. We're staying with friends from college that have two girls (5 and 3). Sam is enjoying all the "girl toys" like the baby stroller, play kitchen, and Polly Pockets (?), but for the first couple days he carried a ball in each hand while following the girls around the house. I guess it was his security blanket for the meantime. Zach has been a dream ... super content and pleasant with tons of smiles -- I don't think he's realized we've moved.
We've had so many offers of help for our family -- it's hard to know what we really need, especially because we're optimistic about our house in Algiers. The church that our hosts attend have completely rallied around them to support our two families living together ... we've received several loads of groceries, a couple meals, and even an extra bed. Honestly, we're so glad to be with such sweet friends at a time like this ... even though it feels crowded at times, I can't imagine not being with other people while being displaced. The silly thing is that .... 5 or 6 years ago when we really became close with Jeremy and Christa, we joked that we could probably live together ... little did we know! I don't think we ever expected to do it, let alone with 4 kids between us. But, alas, they're happy to help and we're happy to be here!
It's been awesome to hear from everyone and I love to hear the stories of the compassion being shown to others in the midst of all of this .... all of America will be affected, I'm sure. Gas here is anywhere between 2.99 and 3.29.
That's where we are for now ....
