Here's a little advice for if your house flooded or took in rain water:
Electrical wiring: If only recepticals went under water remove covers and make sure its dry, then power can be turned on. They may not work if they are coroded though. Try repeatedly pluging and unpluging something to remove it. However, if they don't make a good connection (apliuance goes on and of) don't use it since it could cause heating up. Check if they're getting warm after several min. of use and don't use them if they get warm.
Apliances: Most apliances will be OK after they dry out. Give them a couple of days. If a fridge got enough water for the insulation to be wet, wait several days because there are heaters in some areas of the cabenet to prevent sweating and the insulation must be dry.
