This info comes courtesy of Jessica Davidson. Her sister works for Basic Energy Services. Apparently they are very willing to hire people affected by the storm. Email Jessica at Jdavidson76@aol.com if you need a list of locations. They are all over Texas as well as some locations in the surrounding states.

Subject: Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts
As all of you have seen in the news and on TV, the effects of Hurricane Katrina are truly devastating and unprecedented in our country. The lives of millions of people have been put "on hold" and probably permanently altered by the storm. In our own company, we have over 60 employees who live in southern Louisiana and are dealing to some extent with the devastation. We had shut down our two barge rig operations last Friday, secured the equipment and let our employees take care of their families. At this point, it seems all our people and their immediate families are safe but communication in the area is still disrupted. Our equipment weathered the storm without significant damage; one rig will return to operations as soon as all the crew can be notified to return to work.
While the full extent of this natural disaster is still unknown, it is apparent there is a great need right now for all forms of aid to help those affected survive and then rebuild. In times of crisis, Americans always pitch in with time, money and other resources to help out our neighbors. We have seen several requests from local groups around the country seeking to put together funds or aid packages to benefit the area. It's certainly up to each of us to help out as our conscious and personal means dictate.
BASiC Energy Services intends to support the relief efforts at the company level. Rather than participating with small donations to many groups (some of whom may not have the experience or manpower to be effective), we will make direct financial contributions to established relief organizations and let them fund their efforts on the ground. Your company will be sending checks for $20,000 to the Red Cross and $5,000 to the Salvation Army today. We will monitor the situation and may make additional contributions down the road. You should respond to requests for contributions from other groups that we are channeling all our support through those two groups for the time being.
We may also be able to help people in the storm-damaged area by making them aware of job opportunities elsewhere in the company. Our Human Resources group will look for ways to recruit people from the affected area who may need to temporarily relocate while their home area is made habitable with power, clean water, etc. If you know of people who may be looking for a place to live and work, we should see if they fit with our requirements. Feel free to refer them to our Human Resources group.
Lets all do what we can to help these people recover.
